“Jesus heals the leopards of their spots, or something like that”
Jesus and the 10 lepers
Luke 17;11-19
Rev. Eddie Nutt
Kid 1; Ahem. Have you heard the story of Jesus when he healed the leopards of their spots?
Kid 2: No, but I love animal stories, I watch the Crocodile Hunter all the time.
Kid !: Ok hold on to your seat for an amazing story!
Kid 2; I don’t have a seat.
Kid 1: You know what I mean.
Kid 2: As a matter of fact, I tried to sit down once, but I just slide right out and fell in the floor. I
think it has something to do with the fact that puppets don’t have any bones.
Kid1: You don’t have a brain either, but that’s never stopped you.. Ok the story of ( deep voice)
Jesus when he healed the 10 leopards of their spots. Jesus was walking down the road one
day when He came across 10 leopards. He jumped back in fear. Then He realized that
without their spots, they would just be cats. So He healed their spots. 9 ran away and the
10th one stayed and thanked Him. The end.
Kid 2 : That doesn’t sound right. Let’s check the Bible.
Bible: No that is not exactly right. Now you out there hold on to your seats.
Kid 1: Yea they‘ve got bones, they can do that.
Kid 2: Except for that one guy he doesn’t have a neck!
Kid 1 : ( hitting 2 in the back of the head) Let’s just listen to the story.
Kid 2: That includes you too, no neck.
(Jesus enters back stage with other Bible puppets)
Bible: Jesus was walking down the road one day and he came across a group of people that had
leprosy. That was a sickness that could not be cured. So when you caught it, you were not
allowed back into town so no one else would catch it. Jesus asked them did they want to be
healed. They said yes! Please heal us! They said. So Jesus did. They all went away except
one. He stayed and thanked Jesus for healing Him. He was grateful for Jesus being a
friend. No one else would even talk to him, but Jesus did.
Kid 1: WOW! That was way better than my story.
Kid 2: I’ll say who ever heard of a leopard healing any way. I have heard of a dog healing, but
never a leopard, never.
Bible: We should treat others like Jesus. I’ll bet you know someone at school that the other kids
don’t like. They may even treat them badly, but you shouldn’t. We should be nice and
friendly to everyone. Jesus taught us to love everyone!
Kid 1: That is so true. We should be friends with and love everyone.
Kid 2; No Neck, I love you!
Bible: Jesus was a friend to the nice people and to the people that were not too nice. We can
show other people who Jesus is by being nice and being a friend to everyone.
Kid 1: Come on let’s go see if we can find some body to help.
Kid 2: I already know who I want to help. I want to help that man find a neck! NO NECK I love
you!
( two kids exit)
Bible: Remember, love and be friends with everyone.
