Remember Me
Luke 23: 39-43
Rev. Eddie Nutt
(sounds of spring)
( flowers come up)
Rose: (yawning) Am I glad its spring time! Oh hey petunia.
Petunia: Hey Rose. It sure was a short winter.
Rose: Yea, but I still thought that spring would never get here. I was beginning to
forget what the sun looked like.
Petunia: Oh don’t talk about forgetting, they say your memory is the first thing to
go!
Rose: Oh stop! …….. What were we talking about again?
( Both burst into laughter)
Petunia: Rose, do you remember last summer when the Faulkner’s dog came
walking by, sniffing around and you thought that he was going to… water
you?
Rose: Yea. Then I hollered BOO! It scared him so bad that he wet himself!
( both burst into laughter)
Petunia: Last year was a good year!
Rose: Do you remember when the grab grass got into the flowerbed and he was
hitting on you? He was telling you that you were the sweetest smelling flower
that he had ever been around. Then he offered you some Miracle grow if you
would go out with him.
Petunia: Yea, then I sprayed him in the eyes with Roundup!
( both burst into laughter)
Rose: You know Petunia, the one person that we don’t have to worry about
forgetting is God. He never forgets one of His children. Once we ask Him to
be our Lord and Savior, He never forgets it.
Petunia: That’s right. When the thief was hanging on the cross beside Jesus, he
asked him then and there to be his Lord and Savior! And he did! Jesus
went on to heaven and made a new home for him in paradise!
Rose: I am glad that God never forgets us!
Petunia: Me too! Hey, you know the song “ Do Lord” don’t you?
Rose Are you thinking what I am thinking?
Petunia: Yea, Church, how about singing “ Do Lord” with us.
( Song)
Rose: That was as beautiful as a bed of daisies!
Petunia: Yep, remember that once you ask God into your heart, He never forgets it
and He will never leave your side!
