Mission Statement:

 "The goal of Characters For Christ Puppet Team is to encourage and uplift the Church and to win the lost to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We do this through a wide varity of skits, songs and puppets that teach about Jesus."

Our History:

It was June 2002 and time for everyones favorite, Vacation Bible School. The VBS director came to our pastor and wanted to do something new, she talked him into borrowing and using a puppet for the opening assembly. The "Grandpa" puppet was a big hit with the students and teachers. Each evening they looked forward to hearing from Grandpa. As VBS came to a conclusion, two of the church members came to the pastor and threw out the idea of starting a puppet team. By the time word spread across the church there were 8 volunteers, 7 adults and 1 teenager. Volunteers are great, but what is a puppet team without puppets? They prayed and decided that God would provide. The group heard of a puppet team, that had a weekly TV show, was giving a training seminar on puppeteering about an hour away. They went and learned the basics, but still no puppets. For the first few months they sat around a table togther and read over scripts. After God saw their faithfullness, He opened the flood gates of Heaven and provided for the team. All of a sudden there were funds for puppets, sound system, light system, props and a trailer, all without touching the churches budget! Now the team has about 60 different people, animal, alien, flower and Bible puppets! Isn't God good?! The goal is to present the Gospel in a way that draws men, women and children to Christ. There have been several adults that have accepted Christ as their personal Savior during the invitation. The team continues to travel around to Churches, Associational meetings, Youth events, community days and every other door that God opens.
